On Friday, Novak Djokovic and Tommy Paul will face off in the semifinal of the 2023 Australian Open. Who will become the finalist of the major? Here's our prediction.

Match announcement

Novak Djokovic

Novak Djokovic is on fire. He easily defeated home favourite Alex De Minaur in the round of 16 and got a confident victory over Andrey Rublev in the quarterfinals. Djokovic surrended only seven games to the Russian. Djokovic won his last 26 matches at the Melbourne Major and is looking to reclaim the trophy.

Tommy Paul

Tommy Paul has had a great tournament and made it into his maiden Grand Slam semifinal. To reach the quarterfinals, Paul ousted Jan-Lennard Struff, Alejandro Davidovich-Fokina, Jenson Brooksby, and Roberto bautista Agut. After that, Paul defeated his 20-year-old compatroit Ben Shelton in four sets.

Prediction

Djokovic seems unstoppable. He has won 21 Grand Slams, and will stop at nothing to get the 22nd title. In the last two matches, the Serb lost only five games to De Minaur and seven - to Rublev. We think he will get a landslide victory against Tommy Paul.
